SST Sierra Insurance Brokers

Michael began his insurance career in 1969 as a Commercial Lines Underwriter for Aetna Life & Casualty after earning BS degree from University of Southern Mississippi. He remained with Aetna until 1972 serving in the New Orleans and San Francisco Branch as a Marketing Representative.

In 1972 Mike left Aetna to join the insurance agency ranks in Palo Alto, California. In 1979 he and John Sylvester formed Sylvester & Schwartz Insurance Brokers, now SST Insurance Brokers.

In 1984 Mike created the Murphys, California office of SST Insurance Brokers.

During his career Mike has served on numerous industry related organizations and advisory councils with Insurance Companies. He was President of the Gemini Users Group, Aetna’s Company/Agency automation system. He is active in the Angels/Murphys Rotary. Mike’s has also served the United States Ski Association as President of Far West Skiing Board of Directors.
